Academic Programmes & Admission Requirements
1. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.Sc.)
Ordinary Level Requirements:
Candidates must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and one other Social Science subject at a single sitting, and one Art subject; or six (6) credits at not more than two sittings.
2. Post Graduate Diploma in Management Science (PGDMS)
Admission is open to:
- Graduates of Obafemi Awolowo University or any other approved University with a minimum of a Third-Class degree.
- Holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit from a recognized Polytechnic.
- Candidates must also satisfy the University’s basic Ordinary Level requirements for Management Sciences.
3. Master in Business Administration (MBA-Regular)
Admission is open to:
- Graduates of Obafemi Awolowo University or any other approved University with a minimum of a Second Class (Lower Division) degree.
- In exceptional cases: Candidates with a Third-Class Honours degree (or equivalent de-classified degree) may be considered under specific conditions prescribed by the Postgraduate College and the Department.
Additional Requirements:
- Mandatory satisfactory performance at the Postgraduate Entrance Examination (or alternative test) administered by Obafemi Awolowo University.
- Candidates must satisfy the entry requirements for admission into the University’s first-degree programmes in Management and Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
4. Executive Master in Business Administration (EXMBA)
Admission is open to:
- Graduates of Obafemi Awolowo University or any other approved University with a minimum of a Second Class (Lower Division) degree.
- HND Graduates: Holders of a Higher National Diploma (minimum Lower Credit) with professional qualifications from bodies such as ICAN, ACCA, ACMA, CPA, ACIB, AMIPM, ACII, MIBAKM, ANAN, or CITN.
- Exceptional Cases: Third Class Honours degree holders may be considered under specific Postgraduate College regulations.
Professional Requirements:
- A minimum of two years post-graduation work/industrial experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Mandatory satisfactory performance in the Postgraduate Admission Test.
5. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Business Administration
Admission is open to:
- Candidates with a minimum of Second-Class Lower (Honours) in Business Administration or Business Education from Obafemi Awolowo University or any other approved University.
- Candidates with degrees in related disciplines (Economics, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing).
Ordinary Level Requirements:
- Credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and one other Social Science subject at a single sitting, and one Art subject; or six (6) credits at not more than two sittings.
6. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Business Administration
Admission is open to:
- Candidates with a First Class Degree in Business Administration, HRM, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Business Education, or Economics.
- M.Sc. degree holders in Business Administration with a weighted average between 50–59% (C) in coursework.
- M.Sc. degree holders with a “Thesis by Long Essay” from an approved University.
Ordinary Level Requirements:
- Credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two from Government, Financial Accounting, Geography, and Commerce (max. two sittings).
7. Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
Admission is open to:
- Holders of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a weighted average of not less than 60% (B).
- Candidates must also hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division).
- HND Holders: Candidates with HND (Lower Credit) and at least five years of professional experience.
- Academic Masters: Holders of an M.Sc. in Accounting, Business, or Management-related fields.
- Note: Mature candidates with lesser qualifications may be admitted via a special request from the Dean of OAU Business School to the Provost of the Postgraduate College.
8. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Business Administration
Admission is open to:
- Candidates with an aggregate score of at least 60% (B+) in their M.Sc. or M.Phil. in Business Administration (with research thesis) from OAU or an approved institution.
- Holders of a minimum Second-Class Lower (Honours) degree in Business Administration, HRM, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Economics, or Business Education.
Additional Requirements:
